Former NFL quarterback turned baseball player Tim Tebow tied the knot this year with his girlfriend, model Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, and you’d never guess where. For their 2020 wedding, the couple took a trip to South Africa, where they exchanged vows in a lavish estate in Cape Town, near the model’s hometown. Although the couple described the wedding as intimate, it include nearly 300 guests – not everyone’s definition of intimate. Nonetheless, it was everything the couple had ever dreamed.
The bride is a South-African Beauty Queen, who was crowned Miss Universe in 2017. This was an especially successful year for the model, as it was the same year she started dating her new husband, former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow. At the time, Tebow was at the brinks of his baseball career, only having retired from the NFL the year before. For their nuptials, the couple combined their cultures, presenting both an American and a South African cuisine, and wrote their own vows, “without the cliches,” as Tebow said, celebrating their love.
