Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain is the longest-reigning monarch in British history. She celebrated her Sapphire Jubilee in February 2017 with 65 years on the throne. What many probably don’t know is that Elizabeth first met her future husband, Philip, when she was only 13. Philip was the son of Prince Andrew of Greece, and Elizabeth fell for him immediately. They were distant cousins and kept in touch while she grew up. However, Elizabeth’s father King George VI, was against the match because Philip wasn’t from a wealthy family and had a bit of a rough personality.
