For her first official engagement alongside the queen, the soon-to-be Duchess of Sussex looked classic and elegant, wearing all British brands (was it coincidental or an attempt to prove her full commitment to the nation? Who knows). It was for the 2018 Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey that Meghan wore a coat and dress by Amanda Wakeley.
For the headpiece, a necessary accessory for such an event, she replaced the fascinator hat with a white beret by Stephen Jones, and finished the look with navy Manolo Blahnik heels and a navy suede clutch by Mulberry. By her elegant style and natural chic, you’d never guess that at this point, she wasn’t yet official royalty – this event took place several months before the royal wedding.
