Alessandra Ambrosio began her career as a model in the lingerie market, which led to her success in the fashion world. This initiative included collaboration with both Bottega Veneta and Oscar de la Renta, amongst other fashion houses. After a lengthy and successful career in the fashion industry that included a number of runway shows and magazine covers, she made the announcement that she would be retiring from the field.
It wasn’t until a couple of years later that she developed Gal Floripa, a lifestyle brand and swimwear line that was inspired by her time spent as a mother as well as by Brazil, the nation in which she was born. Gal Floripa was named after her daughter.
