The First Supermodel
Twiggy, whose birth name is Lesley Lawson, is credited as being the first supermodel in the history of the industry. With her skeletal frame, she continues to be a symbol of the London mod scene as well as the beauty ideal of the 1960s. After leaving the modeling industry, Twiggy went on to pursue a successful career in acting and as a judge on “America’s Next Top Model.”

As an advocate for animal welfare, Lawson is well-known for arguing that no one should ever wear fur as a fashion statement. She also believes that fur should not be worn. In addition to this, a significant portion of her time and resources are donated to various organizations that conduct medical research.
