Retired at Thirty
Karen Mulder, a model from the Netherlands, was so popular that no one in the fashion world could refuse her. Yves Saint Laurent, Giorgio Armani, and Versace are just a few of the names on that list. She was featured on the cover of “Vogue,” she walked the runway for Victoria’s Secret, and she posed for Sports Illustrated’s “Swimsuit Issue.”
She suffered from mental health concerns and made alarming charges about her previous employers and Prince Albert of Monaco when she was 30 years old and declared her retirement from modeling in the year 2000. Her announcement came at the same time she made her retirement announcement.
