An Early Start
Ivory Soap was Brooke Shields’ very first modeling assignment when she was just eleven months old. This put her years ahead of the competition. Shields was a leading figure in the fashion world for the entirety of the 1980s, as evidenced by the numerous magazine covers she graced and the Calvin Klein advertisements she starred in. Brooke, who is now in her fifties, has decided that acting is more her passion than modeling.

Her most noteworthy acting roles to date are those in the television shows “Friends,” “Suddenly Susan,” and “Jane the Virgin,” among many others. She served in the capacity of executive producer for the film “When the Bough Breaks,” which is a documentary on postpartum depression. She is a strong supporter of postpartum depression awareness and awareness campaigns for women.
