Marie Helvin’s life was forever altered when she was 15 and traveled to Japan with her mother. Having joined the company as a teenager, he quickly rose through the ranks to become Kanebo’s official brand ambassador. Success in Japan led to an offer from Yves Saint Laurent in the United Kingdom, where she now works.
Versace and Valentino followed quickly after. She met renowned photographer David Bailey while working at Vogue, and the two married in 1975, but divorced after ten years of marriage due to growing romantic differences. The former model, who retired from modeling in the ’80s, has continued to appear in British Vogue and serve as a judge on Britain’s Next Top Model despite her retirement.
