Grace Jones
We don’t intend to belittle her work as a model in any way, but Grace Jones has moved well beyond the boundaries of traditional modeling to become an undeniable icon of fashion. It was in 1970 that she was signed by Wilhelmina Models, and it was with that agency that her outlandish and campy appearance truly took off and flourished.
Jones was a model who was known for her work with Yves Saint Laurent and Kenzo Takada, as well as her appearances on the covers of countless magazines all over the world. She went on to have a great career as an actor and a singer, reaching number one on the Billboard charts in December of 2016.
