Stars We Lost In 2020

It’s really just repeating the same thing a lot to say that 2020 was a year of absolute ups and downs as well as many hardships for the world as well as for individuals. In 2020 we also lost some stars and celebrities that were close to the hearts of many, which made it even harder for some people and caused a lot of hardships on anyone that loved or interacted with these stars. Here’s a rundown on the stars we lost in 2020 and a bit about their work as well to give you an idea of who was on this list.

Lakers at Wizards 12/2/15

Kobe Bryant

Starting off with one that most people probably heard of, at the beginning of 2020 Kobe Bryant was in a helicopter crash in California which led to the loss of Kobe, his daughter Gianna, and seven others in the helicopter when it went down. Kobe was 41 and his daughter was 13. This loss massively impacted fans and friends all around the world as well as Kobe’s family quite heavily. It was a shock to the world.

Chadwick Boseman

Boseman passed away in 2020 at the age of 43 after a hidden battle with colon cancer that he had been fighting for four years. Chadwick had a massive amount of fans and fame from his great career, and it was revealed by his family in August that he had passed as well as the story of his long-standing battle with cancer which had meant movies and roles being filmed around chemotherapy and surgeries.

MF Doom

Rapper MF Doom passed in October at the age of 49, which was revealed to fans and the world by his wife in December after giving herself and Doom’s family some time to process in quiet. MF Doom had a great career in rapping that led to many fans and was well-liked by those close to him. His wife, Jasmine, spoke of his death calling him, “the greatest husband, father, teacher, student” and more that she could’ve asked for in life.

Dawn Wells

In late December, Dawn Wells lost her life to COVID related complications. Dawn was best known for her role in Gilligan’s Island and she was loved by many for her roles on stage as well as her personality. When Wells passed in December she was 82 years old. This wasn’t the only death from the pandemic in 2020, both for stars and everyday people. It explains the heavy impact that this illness had on the lives of millions.

Jason Slater

Third Eye Blind’s original bass player passed away in December of 2020. His cause of death was related to suffering from liver failure according to his daughter Alyssa Carlson who released this information to TMZ to give the media and fans information on his death. Jason Slater was 49 when he died and had a career in music as well as the ties to Third Eye Blind that made him have a lot of connections and fans.

Sadly, there’s more to this list as well. But these are some of the stars we lost in 2020 to give some perspective on the list as well as how it impacted individuals and society in different ways. Those that we lost in 2020 will be missed, and for many that it impacted the grief is still processing which makes things like this list even harder to read, but for those of us that didn’t know or wanted to know who was lost in the celebrity world during the years of 2020, this information can be useful to give some insight.
