Fans of romantic comedies are in complete agreement that While You Were Sleeping is the best example of the genre. This is largely attributable to Sandra Bullock’s portrayal of Lucy, a lone hopeless romantic who develops feelings for the brother of the man she has a crush on (played by Bill Pullman).
This is a result of the film’s confusing case of mistaken identity, which takes place throughout the movie. Bill Pullman, who was 41 years old at the time, played the role of Sandra Bullock’s lover, even though Sandra Bullock was only 30 years old. Quite an age gap!
