Since she was 15, Julie has been a professional model. Miss Norway at the age of 18 was followed by a run at the Miss Universe pageant before she moved to England to work as an au pair and enhance her language skills.
She started performing in modest parts in the late 1960s, but her most well-known appearance was in the 1971 comedy Up Pompeii. She subsequently said that she didn’t mind being called a beauty actor since her good looks helped her get work.
