The beautiful actress was born on the 5th of August 1974, Mumbai to the Mukherjee-Samarth film family of Bengali-Marathi descent. Kajol describes herself as being “extremely mischievous” as a child. She added that she was very stubborn and impulsive from a very young age. She studied at the St Joseph Convent boarding school in Panchgani, India.

In 1992, at the age of seventeen Kajol was given a role in Rahul Rawail’s film ‘Bekhudi’ to play as Radhika while still in school . Her intention was to return back to school after the film production which she never did due to her love for acting. Although the film turned out to be a box office flop but that didn’t deterred her from moving on. In 1993 she featured in Baazigar , a thriller by Abbas-Mustan, which emerged as a major commercial success.
Kajol Devgan has featured in several other blockbuster movies. She launch her own film production in 1999 called Ajay Devgn’s production company but later renamed it to Devgn Entertainment and Software Ltd.
In 2000, Kajol launched an online portal, Cineexplore for the production company. She explained, “The portal takes into account every aspect of film-making. My role is that of a supervisor. I just have to overlook the proceedings. We have our hands in everything. We are making software for TV and music videos.”
