Fans of Jennifer Flavin or Sylvester Stallone may know that the couple have in fact split recently, but what fans and media outlets are finding most interesting are the hypocrisies in things Jennifer has said over the past couple years regarding topics like divorce. What are we talking about? Let’s get into some of the Stallone family’s history.
This couple’s daughters, Sophia and Sistine Stallone, have their own podcast where they discuss many different topics. The name of the podcast was Unwaxed, and it had quite a few regular listeners. One such topic that happened in the past was relationship advice.
Of course, since the girls’ mother has had such a longstanding marriage to Sylvester they brought her in on the podcast for this topic. The episode was called “Mama Knows Best” and during which they discussed struggles in the children’s relationships.
The episode aired approximately 16 months ago, but during this Jennifer told her kids to not rush to conclusions or to divorce in disagreements with a spouse, among other longwinded advice that she was giving leaning on her own years of marriage.
She spoke a lot about how marriage isn’t always going to be happy, and how people go through many changes in life especially when with a long term partner such as mental or physical changes and likened it to how children have their own stages growing up too.
Jennifer continued to talk about arguing and how arguments, even intensely or in a long period of time, were just “phases” of a relationship and she often argues to stay through it and tells her friends or those going through it that it’ll get better in time.
There was a quick note about abuse being not the case, but it seemed overall Jennifer’s stance at the time was no matter what happened divorce wasn’t something to rush to since it often meant rushing to a new relationship and she was more in favor of waiting things out to find calm.
Sophia interjected at times, talking about how true this was that Jennifer often said don’t rush decisions and that in growing up she thought the thing that was most important in her parents was laughter together.
They continued to talk about Jennifer’s relationship, who agreed that being silly was often a way to keep things calm and told her daughter the reason she felt Sylvester was “the one” was because she felt safe and overall perfect being around him.
Fast forward to now, less than a month after celebrating 25 years of marriage together, Jennifer filed for divorce from Sylvester after a seemingly happy anniversary celebration and mentioning spending over 25 more years together.
According to the paperwork, the marriage is quite broken and it seems that assets may be a big fight through this divorce proceeding. Jennifer wishes to keep her last name and reside in the two’s home in Tampa until things get finalized.
Ironically, Sylvester himself has stated even recently that he can’t or won’t live without Jennifer and that she means a lot to him. So how or what happened to come to such a climax nobody really knows at the moment.
All we know is that this seems to be a big, and possibly quite fought over, step in the lives of two big celebs like Jennifer and Sylvester. What will happen to the assets the two have or their lives as well as to their kids’ lives is quite up in the air at this point in time. But it certainly is going somewhere that most, including past versions of the couple, didn’t expect to ever happen.
