Why Queen Elizabeth II Doesn’t Take her Christmas Decorations Down Until February

November 26, 2015 by Veronica Phillips

Can’t say no to the queen

As long as Queen Elizabeth II is alive and spends Christmas in her Sandringham House, she’ll continue to follow her tradition of keeping Christmas decorations up until early February. Who can tell her not to? Not even her kids would attempt to ruin the tradition that’s as old as her reign over the country.

To the queen, this is her personal way of remembering her father who passed away at just 56 years old after ruling for just 15 years during one of the country’s most trying times. She hopes that her son, the king-to-be Prince Charles, will keep the tradition alive after she’s gone.
