Participating in the decorations
Being the queen, Elizabeth II was having a difficult time dealing with her grandchildren and stopping them from wreaking havoc. The queen has total power over her subjects, including her grandchildren, but she wasn’t going to punish them for behaving as kids do. Instead of exiling them an uncharted island, the queen had a better idea.
To ensure that the kids never destroyed the decorations, she invited them to participate in not only hanging them up but also designing their own. In her mind, they wouldn’t want to destroy their own creations and possibly attempt to stop others from doing so. And it worked!
