Why Queen Elizabeth II Doesn’t Take her Christmas Decorations Down Until February

November 26, 2015 by Veronica Phillips

The British Royal Family is one of the biggest trendsetting families of all time. They lead the charge when it comes to fashion, investments, and holiday decorations. However, one thing about Queen Elizabeth II that might annoy lots of people is the fact that she leaves her decorations out well into February. It’s not that she forgets to take them down, but rather she has a heartbreaking story behind her decision to keep them up for more than a month past Christmas.

The Queen loves Christmas

You’ve probably heard of Queen Elizabeth II before, even if your country isn’t a part of her kingdom. She’s the longest-reigning queen to sit on the throne in her kingdom’s entire history. She’s been in power since 1953 and is one of the most respected and beloved members of all royal families.

The queen has looked danger straight in the eyes throughout the close-to-seven-decade reign, including avoiding assassination attempts on her life. She celebrated her 94th birthday, but she’s still going strong. She’s no stranger to heartbreak, as the story behind her decision to keep Christmas decorations up until February will clearly show you.
