Benedict Cumberbatch Participates in a Climate Change Protest in The Same Location Where He Filmed a Car Commercial, According to Reports.
Benedict Cumberbatch is a frequent and outspoken critic of the government’s failure to act on climate change. He does more than just sign open letters to celebrities, though. In 2019, the Sherlock Holmes actor showed up live and in-person to take part in a massive protest in London’s famed Trafalgar Square, which was attended by thousands of people. His smile could be seen in photos taken during the protest, next to a hearse carrying a coffin with the words “Our future.”

Concentrate on the protest’s setting, which was a well-known London landmark at the time of its staging. Cumberbatch starred in a commercial for a turbocharged, gas-guzzling car manufactured by India’s MG manufacturer in Trafalgar Square, which was shot right across the street. Additionally, he once promoted a Jaguar automobile with the slogan “It’s good to be bad.”
