Celebs Who Played in Kids’ Cartoons

December 22, 2020 by Veronica Phillips

We can easily recognize our favorite celebs and stars in their appearances on television or their movie roles, but often celebs star in or have a major part in many different cartoons or animated pieces that just feature their voices. This makes it harder to recognize or register who is actually talking, especially if you don’t even watch the cartoons since many fans of celebrities may not have kids around watching these shows and probably don’t want to watch them in their free time. Here are some of the celebs who have played in kid’s cartoons you probably didn’t know about.

Michael Jordan

Michael Jordan is well known in Hollywood for his lengthy career achievements and roles, and he has joined up to voice the character Julian Chase in a dystopian animated series called Gen: Lock. This show is uniquely placed and has an interesting plot to it, but the cartoon factor means not many Michael Jordan followers would realize his role without watching or knowing.

Kristin Bell

You probably already know about Kristin Bell being involved in kids’ cartoons or animated projects since she voices Anna in Frozen and Frozen II. However, Kristin also voiced a role in 2014 and 2015 on the young kids’ show Bubble Guppies. This is targeted towards a much younger audience than the Frozen movies she stars in, and a surprise to some.

Jim Parsons

Jim has a unique voice and gained heavy traction through his fame in the Big Bang Theory, which led to him lending his voice to a handful of cartoon and animated projects over the years. He’s voiced in some parts of Pete The Cat, The Super Hero Squad Show, Pound Puppies, and an adult animated show called SuperMansion.

Uzo Aduba

Uzo Aduba is well recognized for her time on the show Orange Is The New Black, but she also voiced for a heavily popular cartoon called Steven Universe during the same time of being on Orange Is The New Black. She’s later voiced parts in a Netflix original animated series and a cartoon called Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir.

Stacey Ferguson – Fergie

Before Fergie was a major star, she debuted voicing parts in Charlie Brown cartoons in the 80s. She voiced for three different Charlie Brown cartoon shows as Sally Brown and later also Peppermint Patty. She voiced a total of 4 episodes as well as two video shorts in the 1980s for these characters. Who knew?

This isn’t even the entire list for famous people’s roles in many beloved kid cartoons or animated productions. But, it gives you a good idea of the number of features some celebrities have in these types of projects as well as interesting information to add to what you know about your favorite celebs. If you have kids around that watch these shows or have happened to hear these animated projects and characters before, you may not have even recognized the voice of a celebrity or been able to place who it was. Now you know and have more interesting info to share with friends and family or to keep in mind about your favorite celebs.
