People all around the world and of all different financial status try their best to help others in some form or another. Whether that be volunteering for or donating to charities and worthy causes, helping out a neighbor, paying for the person behind or in front of you at the store, or anything else in between. We do what we are capable of to spread joy and try to make others feel a little better in this world. That is the same case in many celebrities, who spend countless hours and dollars contributing to causes. Here are some of those celebrities who are making a difference in this world and their inspiring philanthropic work and charitable efforts.

Angelina Jolie
Throughout the years, Angelina Jolie has put tons of time and money into helping others. She was named a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador in 2001, created a foundation with her then husband Brad Pitt that helps humanitarian crises around the globe in 2006, and donated $1 million to Doctors Without Borders in 2010. When asked about it in interviews, she’s made it clear that she feels helping is what makes good people and is something that she loves to do.
Keith Urban
Singer Keith Urban spent some time visiting charities in Nashville during the end of 2022, which he spoke about having a deep respect and gratitude for. During this he spent time with staff and volunteers of these organizations, donated hefty sums for the causes, and released a press release discussing his feelings about the issues and how he wanted to help. Thousands of dollars were donated by Keith to three different charities in that instance.
Beyonce
Not only has this singer used her fame to be able to speak up about important justice and societal issues, Beyonce has spent a long time working to help others to the point that she got multiple recognitions for it. She won a BET Humanitarian Award, a Most Charitable Celebrity title, founded the BeyGOOD initiative that helps with attaining and maintaining clean drinking water for an African country as well as aided during the COVID pandemic and mental health crises.
Dave Grohl
A more recent expedition, Dave Grohl went out in early 2023 to help feed Los Angeles’ homeless population. He paid for ingredients and spent 24 hours barbecuing for the cause, which in total fed hundreds of individuals that came for the food during the event. Dave hasn’t spoken out much in the past regarding issues of charity or philanthropy, and it was a unique but effective way to get out there and help a needy part of the population.
Lizzo
We know Lizzo speaks up loud and proud about body positivity, body image struggles, and the issues that fat individuals face in the modern world and in society simply based on their appearance. But she also got loud when it came to reproductive rights being attacked with the overturning of Roe V. Wade recently. She even managed to give $1 million to Planned Parenthood to support and aid women in need.

Even if you haven’t gone out of your way to help someone else, you’ve probably seen or heard of at least someone in your life that has. It feels good to help others when we can. And those that are more fortunate find that giving back to people through philanthropic efforts or charity helps them feel better and creates a real change in the world that many without the money couldn’t really do or succeed with. These are just a few of the many celebs out there that try to use their money or fame to be able to help the less fortunate or worthy causes, and many more are beginning to do so or put even more intense effort into their current philanthropy.
