Advocacy Group Brought A Case Against Amitabh Bachchan
My eyes lit up when I saw this one because I’ve grown so weary of reading comments about people who abuse their power. I mean, obviously it’s terrible to encourage people to kill Sikhs, but at least it was something different from what we normally see. And when I looked up Amitabh Bachchan, I was shocked to find that I had seen him before. The film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham…, which he appeared in, is widely regarded as one of the best in recent memory.
Unfortunately, Bachchan has been accused of making inciting comments during the anti-Sikh riots that occurred in the 1980s. These accusations were serious enough for an advocacy group to file a lawsuit against Bachchan in a court in Los Angeles. On the other hand, he is said to have refuted the allegations, and it appears that the court case was ultimately fruitless. Who can say for sure?
