Bill Murray’s Wife Got Lucky
To tell you the truth, when I think about all of the horrible things that various celebrities have been accused of doing to other people over the years (and especially in recent years), the phrase “You’re lucky I didn’t kill you” barely registers on my radar screen in comparison to everything else that has been going on. I mean, if it’s true, it’s a horrible thing to do, but since we don’t know the context or the tone of voice that it was set in, it’s difficult to really get worked up about it.

Have I just allowed myself to become extremely jaded and insensitive? When I hear that Bill Murray may have said something threatening to his wife, I just shrug my shoulders and say, “could be worse.” Have I read so many terrible stories about celebrities beating their romantic partners and assaulting anyone they could get their hands on that it has conditioned me to react in this way? Perhaps this really is the worst possible timeline for humanity to exist in.
