Laurence Olivier
Laurence Olivier is one of those celebrities who has had no qualms about interrupting his career life to serve his country in the military when the occasion necessitated it. When World War II broke out, the first thing that came to mind for Olivier was to train to be a combat pilot. He elected to enlist in the Royal Air Force, despite the fact that he had other obligations.

During his career, the Academy Award-winning actor had a lot going for him in terms of success. As a pilot in the Fleet Air Arm, he served for two years, but he never had the opportunity to go into battle, much to his dismay, before the war came to an end.
