Henry Fonda,
It’s hard to believe that Henry Fonda had an acting career that lasted for over half a century! Prior to1935, he had made his film debut in Hollywood, but he was a Broadway performer before that. Film roles include Tom Joad and The Grapes of Wrath, based on John Steinbeck’s novel of the same name.

During World War II, actor Henry Fonda enlisted in the US Navy as a seaman and was assigned to the first air combat intelligence unit in the country. He received the Bronze Star and the Presidential Citation for his service. He was also raised to the rank of lieutenant just a few months before he was released from the service in 1945.
