J.D. Salinger
Although JD Salinger was enlisted in the United States Army during World War II and was stationed in Europe, he continued writing. In the course of the D-Day invasion of Normandy and the subsequent discovery of Nazi concentration camps in Nazi-occupied territory, he encountered numerous adventures and overcame seemingly insurmountable obstacles. The majority of his books are based on his personal experiences in the military.

One of Salinger’s most well-known works is The Catcher in the Rye (1953). Despite the fact that it is not a military novel, his service in World War II unquestionably enriched his life and work, and he is grateful for that. Take a look at the world through the eyes of Holden Caulfield, a character who has stood the test of time in the novel.
