David Letterman Cracked Jokes on His Late Show with David Letterman.
The Academy Awards were hosted by David Letterman in 1995. His opening anecdote didn’t elicit a lot of laughter from the audience. His “odd” names are made fun of in the joke, with specific references to Uma Thurman, Oprah Winfrey, and Keanu Reeves among those targeted.
Even though the joke didn’t make me laugh, it did make me feel uncomfortable in some ways. Aside from this, Letterman had to give up looking for Reeves after failing to locate Thurman and Winfrey in the audience because none of the three were aware that they were being played a practical joke on them.
