Aliko Dangote: Now 37th richest man in the world

Within 24 hours of his ascension to 23rd position on list the richest people in the world, Aliko Dangote slipped 14 places to 37th position. The African business tycoon has however, retained his number one position in Africa. Forbes made rapid u turn on the ranking in less than 24 hours after it was published.

However, Dangote holds the record of the first African to attain such a height, occupying a position below 25th on the list, moving from 43th position. The African entrepreneur has a net worth of $20 billion.

Another Nigerian business mogul Mike Adenuga moved 4 places down to 329th richest person in the world. The globacom chairman is among few Africans who have found a place in rich list. Just yesterday, he was occupying the 325th position. Today he is 329th on the list, with a net worth of $4.7 billion.

Isabel Dos Santos is another African who is significant on the list. The Angolan president daughter moved up to 432nd position with a net worth of $3.7 billion.

Folorunsho Alakija drop 14 places from 687th to 778th on the rich list. She has a net worth of $2.3 billion.

American business man Bill gates, however, retains the first spot, beating the Mexican telecom giant Carlos Slim Helu after four years. Bill gates has a net worth of $82.1 billion.

    Kudos to him, but Dangote and the Northern elites should work together to assist FG in ending the boko haram insurgency in Northern Nigeria

    kudos to him, but it will be nicer if Dangote and other Northern elites co-operate together more to assist FG in finding a solution to the bomo haram insurgency endemic in Northern Nigeria.
