Most Iconic Wedding Dresses in History

Audrey Hepburn and Mel Ferrer

The British actress, model, and humanitarian, Audrey Hepburn was a beloved film and fashion icon. For her first wedding with Mel Ferrer, on September 25, 1954, she wore a dress featured a high collar, puffed three-quarter length sleeves paired with elbow-length gloves and a circle skirt, which sat at mid-calf.
The Pierre Balmain-designed dress was the best choice for delicate Hepburn, who was then famous for her movie Roman holiday. The couple divorced after 14 years in 1968.
